Thanks for being there!!

Whenever I think of you,
Flow in emotions anew.
I wonder what it is,
That drives me to you.
Whatever it is,
I am happy to have you!

Entrepreneur Reborn!!

Far from the maddening crowd,
Is a bystander looking around
Gazing through the ocean of heads,
Wiping off the beads of sweat,
Thinks he of the days of threats,
Of the battles of bread.
Wonders, if they would ever understand,
The pain of standing tall, in the world of quicksand!
He, an entrepreneur reborn!
Vows never to be a clam!

Is Academics All Important In Life??

I have always felt that life is incomplete without arts and sports. How I wish we, Indians, had aped the West in terms of the importance they give to learning some art or the other rather than having aped values destroying our culture. The novels depicting English boarding schools have always made me yearn for things I have not given time to. Kids in the West are exposed to various arts and sports whereas here in India we give importance only to academics. We judge people based on their educational background and even in that we are too narrow minded that we can't appreciate the fineness of self help courses. To educated Indians, being a Doctor, an Engineer, a Chartered Accountant are the only options available which can be considered worthwhile and respectful. Anything other than the ones mentioned above are not respected in the society nor is their presence acknowledged. How pathetic our society is!

I hope the coming generations realize the value of a complete and healthy life. Success in life is not just about being successful academically but also about being happy, healthy and peace loving. Appreciating the fineness of the finer side of life and being tough enough to face the hardships in life is something that Arts and Sports teach us. Let us give up our prejudice and start life afresh! Come, lets cherish life!

Preserving Culture or Destroying Human Rights????

The recent attack on women in Mangalore pubs just about proves the existence of poisoned and corrupt(emotionally and culturally corrupt) minds in India!

These attacks are a disgrace not just for the country but for the whole human race. The society that we live in today has gone way ahead in terms of technological advancements and economic growth but sadly human mind is still immature, prejudiced and emotionally defective!

Today the country's roads are not just unsafe for women but unsafe for brothers and sisters to walk on. For, they may be mistook for a couple and attacked on for no valid reason. Totally insane.

I am no believer in Western style of living(as people call it) but certainly I do believe that every human on earth has the right to live his life the way he wishes without hindering the interests of anybody else.

The recent proclamation by a certain group of individuals( I am not mentioning their name not out of fear but to keep my tongue clean!) to marry away couples found together on Valentines Day is beyond words of condemnation. Atrocious! The minds have become so narrow that clear thinking is lost forever!

Whenever I think about the self-proclaimed protectors of Indian Culture, I remember just one saying,

"Everybody sees his own reflection in others!"

A Day in My Life!

28.01.2009
I was scheduled to attend a rally as a part of NSS activities. Ms. Kanimozhi, MP was also to be a part of the rally. The rally was cancelled at the last moment on 28.01.2009 as our ex-president,
Mr. R. Venkataraman had passed away the previous day(27.01.2009). And the inefficiency of the organisers was clearly felt when they failed to inform the various participants of the rally and the college authorities about the cancellation of the rally. This resulted in students of various colleges assembling near light house(Marina Beach) on 28.01.2009. There was utter chaos and confusion.

I, along with a few of my friends and juniors stood near a subway waiting for another set of juniors to report to us. A traffic police inspector came to us and told that the place where we stood wasn't a public place (Imagine my irritation!) and instead asked us to go to the beach! How stupid! It was 9 30 AM then.. Not one soul was in the beach and he expected us to go there in the hot sun and claimed that it was safe. We just moved to a nearby bus stop. He came there again and told us to go to the beach. I and my friends shouted orders to our juniors not to move. I told my juniors not to pay heed to that ******* within the traffic cop's earshot. I was irritated. He was just looking for opportunities to talk! Highly disgusting!

When we were still waiting for our juniors we saw an accident on the road. A biker skid and fell when he was hit by a car at the signal and this ******* cop stood without moving a limb. Disgusting!

A few goons(they don't deserve to be called students) of Presidency College came and passed comments. It was really irritating. Needless to say, that ******* cop didn't do anything about it. ********

My juniors finally came and we left the place in batches. It was one day which taught me the difficulties involved in handling 50 students for whose safety you will be held responsible. I am sharing this with you just to let you know the inhuman face of Chennai! The people who are supposed to protect are the ones you can least expect protection from!

GOOD MORNING

Morning!! A wonderful time. The frame of mind which we are in when our day starts decides our day. Imagine waking up to a gloomy room with boring shades on your walls making the overall atmosphere have a disastrous effect on your day! Uuurg... I wouldn't want that. Add that glow to your room. Change posters, add colour, keep it tidy and lo.. the room is all set for you to wake up to.

We influence others mood for the day besides deciding ours. Wishing everybody a cheerful morning makes for a wonderful beginning. Smile into your phone when you receive a call. The receiver might not be able to see you smile but certainly can feel the chirpiness and that good start makes his day! So remember to wake up to a cheerful day and make everyday worth waking up to for your own self and for others as well!:)

जिंदगी

Zindagi naam hai sangharsh ka,
Aapsi pyaar ka,
Takraar ka.
Dost bante hain zindagi ke raah me,
Dosti nibhate hain kuch toh,
Hume bhool kuch log jaate hain,
Koi kisi ke liye rukta nahin,
Is daud me.
Nikal jaate hain,
Hume apne yaadon me dafna kar,
Dil ke dard ko koi kya jaane,
Jab apne paraye ho jaaye?

My 1st attempt at writing a poem... Jago Bharat Jago

jago bharat jago
Raah hai badi, par manzil duur nahi,
Kaal ka hai chakravyuh, par phasnewale hum nahi,
dil mein hai aag, hai aag shaanti ki,
hai aag kaamyaabi ki,
jisme hoga wah basm jo roke hume,
hoga nasht wah jo toke hume,
hume hai pyaas swatantra bharat ki,
haan swatantra bharat ki,
swatantra aapsi dushmani se,
swatantra dil ki kadwaahiyon se,
jahaan honge sabhi ek,
jahaan honge sabhi jaan se pyaare,
hey yuvak, lao tum khiinch bahar,
jo hain phase jaat-praant ke chakravyuh me,
hey yuvak, tum hi wah shakti
paratantra bharat ki, jo use swatantra banaye,
dil me jagalo is agni ko,
joo bujhe naa, bin manzil paaye.

Friends!!

Life is all about friends. खुशी हो या गम, जीना है संग संग। Friends are sources of inspiration, shoulders of support and pats of reassurance. They are those few people who are always there for you no matter what. The best blessing in life are friends. How many friends are around you is not as important as how many are with you. I am lucky. That is what i say to myself when i look at my precious friends. When I see people shying away from the world and living a secluded life, i feel very bad for them. It really isn't living when you live a life devoid of people to love, to understand and to grow old with. How many ever fights we might have, no fight is worth giving up the precious bond we share with loved ones! Certainly not. A simple sorry mends miles of bitterness and spreads acres of love and goodness. So if you have hurt a loved one, go give them a big hug and spread miles of smile:)

நீண்ட நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு எழுதிய கவிதை

A Poem I Wrote Long Back!:)

Duniya naam ki nadi par hai meri kashti zindagi ki,
Kinaare par jitne khade the sawaar ho gaye meri kashti me,
Mein bhi kitni khush thi yeh soch ki mujhe chahne waalon ki kami nahi.
Par is ghayal dil ko ab patha chala ki
kashti akhir hoti hai nadi paar karne k liye,
Manzil aane par saath chod dete hain sabhi,
Akhele reh jaate hain hum jab saagar se nadi jaa milti hai!
